Elisa Cyre
Elisa Cyre grew up in rural South Dakota and graduated with honors from Augustana College in Sioux Falls. She then moved to North Carolina to attend Duke University School of Law.
Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Cyre gained experience in a variety of criminal and civil cases as a law clerk for the Honorable William Wayne Justice in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. The court's criminal cases were heard in Del Rio, Texas, where she worked on criminal matters of all types, including narcotics, human trafficking, immigration, counterfeit goods, and federal sentencing.
Since joining Tharrington Smith in 2007, Ms. Cyre has represented clients in the trial divisions of North Carolina state and federal courts, administrative hearings, the North Carolina Court of Appeals, and the North Carolina Supreme Court. She has also worked on appeals before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Cyre is admitted to practice in North Carolina, as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of North Carolina, the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
