H. Suzanne Buckley
Suzanne Buckley received her Bachelor's of Arts from Smith College and graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Buckley was awarded the Kirby Public Service Scholarship, the Sandra Johnson Public Interest Award and the Gressman-Pollit Award for Outstanding Oral Advocacy. She also served as the Director of the Pro Bono Program and was one of eight graduating students inducted into the James E. and Carolyn B. Davis Society.
After graduating law school, Ms. Buckley served as a law clerk to Judge James A. Wynn, Jr. at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. During her clerkship, she worked on appellate opinions addressing a variety of family law issues including spousal support, equitable distribution, and child custody.
Ms. Buckley joined Tharrington Smith in 2009. Her practice is devoted to family law mediation, litigation, and appeals. She co-authors the "Case Law Updates" in the official publication of the North Carolina Bar Association's Family Law Section, the Family Forum. Ms. Buckley is a member of the Wake County Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys.
Ms. Buckley lives in her hometown of Durham, North Carolina with her husband and their dog.
