Trey Allen
Curtis H. ("Trey") Allen III earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 1997 and his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000. While a law student, Mr. Allen was a published staff member of the North Carolina Law Review. After receiving his law degree, Mr. Allen served overseas as a judge advocate in the United States Marine Corps. He then worked as a law clerk for Justice Paul M. Newby of the North Carolina Supreme Court before joining Tharrington Smith.
Mr. Allen practices education law. He is admitted to practice before all state courts and federal district courts in North Carolina, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Mr. Allen is a past editor of Education Law, a publication of the Education Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.
